Blackrock Renaissance 4200 2G TT is the second generation Renaissance and is an absolute gem of a rod which offers loads of performance and quality at a great price. It is a powerful continental style of rod which Blackrock have developed to cope with the mixed ground and mixed species which the average sea angler looks to target.
The Blackrock Renaissance 4200 2G TT has an improved all new second generation 20T carbon blank and comes with twin tips:
- Hybrid Sensi Tip – Super sensitive to spot the smallest of bites, even at range
- Tubular Power Tip – Perfect for bigger baits, stronger tides and rough weather
The Blackrock Renaissance 4200 2G TT has stunning cosmetics in a striking yellow and is equipped with Seaguide Zircona SIC KWAG guides and a Fuji reel seat.
My personal thoughts about this new 2G blank
Being a blackrock ambassador I have used this new blank and both tips for the last few months and can honestly say it’s a pleasure to use, very light strong, surprisingly softer through the mid section and the two tips are definitely a plus in different weather conditions.
Although Light this blank will handle rough weather and big surf conditions with ease, suitable for clean beach fishing, estuary and river combined with a six to eight thousand sized fixed spool reel. The bite detection is great on both tips, I prefer the tubular power tip for ray fishing and the hybrid tip for plaice and Bass. The big plus for me is the yellow blank is visible at night even on the lowest head light setting you do not need tip lights.
